Marian Estates Residents Help Willamette Humane Society

Marian Estates Reece Healthcare Center residents recently volunteered their time to fill dog toy kongs for the Willamette Humane Society. They filled the kongs with peanut butter, kibble and canned dog food to create a nutritious, fun snack for the animals.

Kongs are dog toys with many uses... the Kong is made of high quality non-toxic rubber, designed for you to fill with foods that your dog will have loads of fun digging out. They come in several sizes and degrees of toughness, for tiny young pups up to the industrial-strength jaws of some larger breeds.

This Willamette Humane Society program was designed to get area senior citizens more involved with the shelter. Spearheaded by Karen Corsini and Melissa Valentic, it has already sparked a lot of interest at Marian Estates and the residents are delighted to positively impact the animals’ lives.
